Meet Vann and Kevin, an unstoppable dynamic pair who are not only life partners but also business partners. Their journey of unwavering support, shared dreams, and an unbreakable bond brings together their joint entrepreneurial spirit. Having met and fallen in love, they shared a common story: both are first-generation, graduated from UC Davis, and grew up in Sacramento only 10 minutes apart. This married couple resides in Elk Grove with their 1-year-old daughter and two pups, Bucket and Sparkle.
With a perfect blend of passion for the community and medicine, they embarked on an incredible journey to turn their aspirations into reality. Kevin, an analytical pharmaceutical engineer with an eye for detail, ensures well-thought-out delivery of all their projects at Organic Skin Studio. Together with Vann and drawing on Vann’s medical background as a Physician Assistant, she has witnessed firsthand many medical challenges patients can face such as how a cancer diagnosis can profoundly impact an individual’s self-esteem, diverting their focus from self-care.
During chemotherapy or radiation treatments, patients often encounter hair loss, changes in skin texture, and insomnia, all of which can quickly become a new reality for them. These physical changes significantly influence how individuals perceive themselves and their well-being. This became evident when Vann’s own aunt was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year. In October 2023, they launched a month of free facials for cancer patients and survivors to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This experience also fueled their mission to create GloWell—a plant-based, medical-grade skincare line safe enough for cancer patients yet powerful for everyday use.
